Hi,
I think swelling is different for everyone, I dont remember the advice, but ask your surgeon for what to do to help with swelling (ice/heat, sleeping not completely flat) I looked and felt like a hamster for about three weeks after sarpe and 4 wisdom teeth out... It does go away eventually!

I had SARPE back in April of 2010 and it took about a week for the majority of the swelling to go down, and then a couple of months for the residual swelling to go down. Try using either plastic spoons or baby spoons, you may have an easier time. Good luck!
