Where in NC? I'm in the Triangle (RDU) area, and all but two of the OMFS's that actually do orthognathic surgery in the area are at the dental school in Chapel Hill. Mine will (eventually) be done by Prof. Blakey at the dental school.
That said, you should probably stick with whatever OMFS your ortho sends you to. Surgery cases require close coordination between the surgeon and ortho, and it can help to use one your ortho has used before for jaw surgery.

yeah that is true. I am thinking about getting orthodontic treatment at the dental school actually.
