Why have temporary surgery (your jaw eventually repairs it self and reverses the surgery)?
You can have your upper jaw lengthened (grown) forward to its correct position using headgear (worn at nights), and allows the lower jaw to come forward into its correct position, allowing room for the tongue, air way and jaw joints. It is permanent (widening and/or lengthening) to allow the tongue room to fit so it can keep the jaw in its correct arch shape.
Legally you have to be told about all the options.
THE JAWS CAN GROW NO MATTER WHAT AGE.

Re: July Surgery Group??
I don't believe that my surgery is a temporary solution. My lower jaw was cut, moved forward and held in place with screws and plates, I don't believe that it will reverse itself.
Whilst what you say about upper jaw expansion may be correct, in my case I didnt need any thing done to my upper jaw.
I trust the expertise provided by my surgerical team and I am happy with having chosen orthodontist treatment and BSSO as a solution for my issues.

Well I am all done, home now on the road to recovery. Hardest part so far was actually going in on the day and saying bye to loved ones! Pretty uncomfortable now but I know it'll only get better, be positive! Hope everyone else in July is doing wellBeebop wrote:Erm... Yes my turn in July too, pretty apprehensive about it and it all seems real now. 26th July is the day, exactly a month tomorrow
