Severe nose bleeds post op.

Hello everyone so recently I had double jaw surgery and for the most part everything is going well. The first week was not bad but shortly after 1 week I had the worst nose bleed of my life. I had blood pouring out of my nose and down my throat and coughed up blood clots. I talked to my surgeon and he says that nose bleeds can be normal. Well let me tell you I have been having these insane nose bleeds almost every everyday and I was even hospitalized one night because they are so bad that I black out. They last 30mins or longer and I have so much blood clots in my nose and throat. Anyway I'm going to see about speaking with a specialist about it because this can't be normal.. it's definitely coming from deep in the nose.

Update: I have stopped using my ibuprofen 600mg after my last crazy nose bleed (Friday late afternoon) and it's been ok I would still like to see if I can a whole week without having one. Has anyone else experience nose bleeds like this post op? I'm assuming that taking a blood thinning medicine could play a major factor. I was prescribed the strong dose of ibuprofen to take every 6 hours post op to help with swelling and pain but I definitely don't need it.

Generally, you don't need to take any pain meds you don't feel you need to control the pain. I was told to taper off whenever I felt comfortable (and, of course, taper off the Hydrocodone sooner rather than later.)

Yeah I have just lots of uncomfortable feelings not really pain. I haven't had any more nosebleeds by the way. I still spit out little chunks of blood. I have always suffered with nasal problem and nasal drip. The mornings are a bit brutal sometimes trying to clear out my throat.
