Can i avoid general anesthesia by using iv sedation in corrective jaw surgery?

I think it depends on what type of surgery and also the surgeon's preference. From what I've read it's a little more likely to be able to get a SARPE done with local + sedation only, but LeFort/BSSO procedures are virtually always going to use general because they don't want any chance of you moving around during the procedure.

There was a guy on here a year or two ago asking about that too. "Twilight sedation" or something. He was asking about a lot of wacky alternative procedures, in fact. Not sure how that worked out for him, unfortunately :/ If you find out, please report back so other people who come along asking will know :)
