Re: June/ july 2018 surgery buddies
I'm having sarpe surgery on the 20th of July I'm a little apprehensive about it all but it's been a rough couple of years with tmj so I'm relieved it's finally happening! Good luck everyone

Jaydee83, har you having additional surgery after sarpe? Lefort 1?
So you have a bilateral crossbite? And the surgeon says it will improve the TMD?
When it comes to the surgery, I think you will be fine. The pain is not normally the issue, just discomfort. Also the first week goes fast as you are medicated, and most probably sleeping a lot (incoherently, though). Good luck!

I'm having my SARPE surgery on July 16th. I've had spacers in for the last 4-days and boy do they hurt!
So far my treatment plan is:
SARPE -> Expander -> Invisalign (8 months) -> Braces (1-month for surgical wire only) -> Double Jaw Surgery -> Recovery (w/ braces removal) -> Invisalign finishing touches.
This is to correct my under/crossbite. SARPE will be expanding 12mm!

Hey guys,
I had double jaw surgery on June 14th and I was banded shut for 11 days. My surgeon said everything is healing pretty good. He wanted me open my mouth but I couldn’t open it. He said I can! My jaw joints hurt when I try. He said it was because I was banded shut long time and I have to start working on my opening to make my joints happy again.
Today I tried a little bit and I can open maybe a few mm. Only a little bit of my tongue can slide through my teeth. I am pretty demoralized. Feels like my jaw doesn’t want to move. Hope I can at least open a little bit more so that I can start brushing inside my teeth...

I had the surgery on May 10th, and wore bands for 3 weeks and removed them while eating. At the beginning is so hard to open your mouth but don't worry. Everyday you can open a bit more. You'll see a big improvement in 2-3 weeks.

Also I used a baby brush from the second day for brushing teeth. It was uncomftorable in the beginning but I managed somehow.

I had a 2 week follow-up on Wednesday. I observed my nostril change to the surgeon and she said it looked as though my septum had deviated... and proceeded to manually manipulate it, which hurt more than anything else so far. My nostrils still look different but somewhat improved. She says it could be the swelling... but she wants me to massage my septum daily to prevent scar tissue from pushing it.
My bottom teeth also weren't in the splint. And I just e-mailed to make an appointment before my next follow-up on the 11th because I have no idea how to tell if my bottom teeth are in the splint or not, and that was with 3 elastics. How did they get out?! They showed me how it should look in a mirror, but I had thought they were in the splint before so... I kind of wish I was wired shut! It's uncomfortable as is, and the liquid diet sucks, but at least then I wouldn't have to worry 24/7 about screwing up my bite.

Hi all!
Long time stalker and 1st time poster. Just had my SARPE yesterday. Lots of mixed emotions as I've been working for 2.5 years to get this process started and I'm already over it, but I have such a long way to go.

That’s wierd, Jdiamerond! Can you try with another browser, and then get back to me?
Re: June/ july 2018 surgery buddies
Yeah I tried multiple browsers and still does not work for me. Maybe others can see it but me?
