Molars arn’t touching 4minths post op
I had lower jaw surgery (mandible advancement surgery) 4 months ago. My back molars still are not touching when I bite down which makes it hard to eat. Has this happened to anyone if so how long before they touched.

Hi There-are you in ortho treatment right now? Typically jaw surgery entails some pre & post work. The post work would be addressing the molars not touching.

I’m also about 4 months post op and my molars don’t touch. I had an open bite before and now it’s the opposite. The surgeon said the fairly large space in my molars when I bite down should be easy to close and the ortho doesn’t seem worried about it but it hasn’t been improved yet at all. Really sucks for eating certain food like spaghetti.

I think some people never really get the post-op molar position perfect. I think @jaime just learned to deal with a slight gap that remained after many months of orthodontic treatment, but I could be wrong. Good luck!
