Is it possible to put in braces right after wisdom teeth...

#1 Post by talmeida86 »

Well I wanted to know if it was possible to have my braces put on the same day they pull all my wisdom teeth. I'm a very busy student/part time worker and I hardly make time for appointments so this would be more convenient. I think my mom asked my dentist and she said no, but with no particular reason. I was thinking about asking other dentists if they'd do it and go from there.

I Say it is possible but not recomendable. When you get your wisdom teeth out, pain is usually expected. I had no pain when I had my wisdom teeth extracted, but it did take me around 3 days to eat cuz it is hard to eat. So if you get pain after the removal of your wisdom teeth, it willl combine with the pain of your braces. I would say NO , wait a week. But if you really have no time for appointments, then get it the same day. youll have to miss the next day of work or school after you get your wisdom teeth remove anyways. well, do what ever you want.

My ortho would not do it. I had to wait 2 weeks. It was a good thing. I did get 2 dry sockets and they had to go in and repack the holes. With wires in the way it would have been bad.
