Elastics Before Surgery.

is this a normal part of the process? my ortho gave me 2 bags of them to wear for 8 weeks? im a bit worried? maybe he forgot i was having surgery?(99% sure im wrong about that idea) just speculations that i hope can be cleared up! thanks

I had to wear elastics for about 3 months before my lower jaw surgery... not totally sure what the point of it was though...
