In regards to stitches, I'm not sure, because I never ended up really seeing any! (Odd, I know) I think I spit out little bits in the first couple of weeks, but I asked my OS about this and he said "Oh, we put really fancy things in there you know!" Joking around with me, but yet it still baffled me that they pretty much all dissolved.....
Hi all,
For the blended pizza, I added ragu and water to liquify it. I shouldn't have added the ragu though, it made it too rich. If i were to do it again, I'd just add water or maybe tomato soup. I've been surprised at how everything I've pureed has tasted the same as the original. Nothing has grossed me out yet...
I've had my 1 week follow up appoint changed to Wednesday, a day sooner. I hope they take the stitch under my upper lip out then. It causes a bit of pain when I touch my right nostril. I know, quit touching my right nostril... but sometimes my nose runs and I have too!

I had my first follow up appointment today, 5 days post op, and my surgeon was very pleased with things. He said my bite is perfect! He put looser elastics on and I am to see him again in a week.
Also, the sleeping situation has resolved somewhat - I've been sleeping with a neck pillow. The swelling has drastically reduced though I'm still noticeably swollen. Hopefully that will improve in a few days...

yea it just means that they keep you asleep. They use machines to keep you sedated then gradually wake you back up until you are breathing on your own. Its not as bad as it seems t just means that the anesthetic keeps you quite tired for about a week or so. It's only done because otherwise your throat may swell up considerably so you wont be able to breathe or eat. Someone is by your side the whole 24 hours making sure your ok so its not to bad.

YAY! I'm officially one week and .. about 3 hours post op!
Had my first post op yesterday and was told that it all looked just fine and I got looser bands on.. Lovely! Now, I should be able to eat mushy foods, but it's pretty difficult when you can't even get anything into your mouth
Strangely enough though, my nose is flower. They said that it shouldn't be so, since the upper jaw was moved down, not up.
As to weight loss problems; I've lost around 4 kilos, and apparently that's around 8,8lbs! This means that I'm just shy of being underweight. Yay. Feels pretty NOT good.
