One more thing

#16 Post by browneyedgirl16683 »

One more thing....I understand your difficulty with eating...I am 5'5" and weighed 108 before the surgery....I have lost about 6 pounds already. I used to drink a lot of Ensure but I am sick of that already. I'm doing everything I can to get the calories that I need but it's really hard.

Just to clarify, I am not on liquids only :P , I was just drinking Ensure to try and get some extra calories since I was not eating as much as I normally would. I am eating lots of different solid, semi-soft foods....its just that my portions are very small. So I still feel hungry throughout the day. Plus I have a couple of sores in my mouth so that really turns me off from wanting to chew anything. :?

You are absolutely right Meryaten...I think part of it is laziness and also just really busy with work and trying to sell our house that I really don't put the effort into finding new recipes or creative ways to get my calories. But I know that I need to....guess I may have to take a trip down Amazon.com lane....

You know...I haven't been to a library in a couple of years but I would say it is pretty good. That thought never even crossed my mind....I will have to check it out!

weigth loss

i know i have lost about 3 pounds from this in the first week. i think that is also has to do with the first few days when you really have NO appetite and even opening your mouth the put the lip of a cup in is painful. im doing better eating now, but also the swelling in my face made me nasueous when i put my head down to look at my food to eat it...another turn off to eating. anyways, i dont think ive heard of anyone starving to death from surgery. i am assuming that it will all eventually balance out. either that or ill go to cold stone...a days worth of calories in one large ice cream!
