Yay! Just found out I only need the Leforte and genio... no BSSO! My ortho managed to get everything sorted out on my lower jaw with just the braces (pretty good considering we couldn't even use elastics either). Should make for a smoother recovery hopefully 8)

So, who else goes in in August?

Funny, I started this post and still don't have my date yet. I'm still pretty sure that I will have my surgery the end of August. Ask me again in two weeks when I have my next ortho appt. I'm having molds made in two weeks time to take ot my oral surgeon. Hopefully he will say okay and give me my date! :)

August 7th for me. It's coming up VERY fast! Haha, when it was still months away I always told myself I wouldn't be nervous at all, but now that it's just over a week away I'm a bit nervous. But at the same time I've been waiting a long time for this to happen, so... cheers! :)

yes... yes they are. I just had mine put on this morning :(

it feels like there's something stuck in my braces. Which, I guess, technically there is... just that it's several pieces of metal. not painful, just... annoying. At least they gave me a fresh supply of wax though :D

I'm glad that they gave you some wax! :)
What type of items have you bought for the surgery? (food, supplies, etc.)
Also, are you getting nervous yet?

definitely getting nervous - I want this overwith, but not looking forward to the immediate aftermath.

I got a lot of the things mentioned in the sticky posts (liquid suplements, zip-n-squeeze bags, baby spoon and toothbrush). I think the only thing I picked up that I haven't seen mentioned was a fibre suplement that dissolves in water (I found a great one with probiotics in it) - figure with the liquid diet that part might be lacking. The hospital where I'm having the surgery has been great about preparing me, they're even sending in a nutrionist to see me in the hospital to go over the whole liquid diet thing.

Everything's ready to go now, bag will be all packed tonight then I can take the weekend to relax and kep my mind off of things. Going for a nice long hike on sunday, as it's the only day we're having nice weather this weekend... gotta love Atlantic Canada! :)

I have the same things. Zip n squeez bags and jaw wrap, baby spoons, tooth brush I do want to go shopping to get more things. Like more liquid food, and drinks. I also need to get some button or zip shirts. I doubt that I'll feel like pulling things over my head.

What do you mean by zip n squeeze bags? And why do you need them? I should get ready for surgery; I haven't really gathered any supplies yet.
