Bitewonder covered everything, I had duel Jaw surgery last week in Hereford, UK, the worst part was the sickness afer each attempt to drink fluids, but was given medication to stop this.

I made the mistake of staying 2 nights in hospital, I was moved from the accute ward to day ward, and it was Friday night and busy!

Good luck

Audra - actually, an NG tube typically IS used for feeding. They do it for malnourished and anorexic/eating disordered people, for the elderly, for meds, etc. It is unpleasant to say the least.

I have some more questions, I was wondering if you have any scarring on the outside of your mouth or is it all done somehow inside?

Also I was wondering how do you brush your teeth after surgery? Do you use some other way to clean your mouth or nothing?

Thanks

It's all done on the inside of the mouth.

Cleaning depends on the surgeon. I'm on saline rinses and peroxide rinses for 2 weeks, and then I can brush. I can't wait! I'm pretty sure my other surgeons let me brush earlier, but whatever, I'll do what I'm told. The reasoning is that the brushing can really mess up the stitches that are up in the gums, and I don't want to mess that up!
