Noam - from the before/after pictures I've seen, both BSSOs and IVROs shorten the face. I haven't seen any literature that suggests one shortens the face better than the other though.

Eric - thanks for sharing your experiences! It seems there's only a handful of people on the boards who have had an IVRO and it's always extremely helpful to hear from people who have gone through the entire treatment.

Also, I forgot to mention that I had a sliding genio plasty as well. That could account for some of the loss of feeling in the chin that I have. What really shortened my face was the genio and the impaction of the maxilla. God, the more I think of the surgery, the more things I remember I had done.

Hey Kerr, are you from New Jersey? If so who is your surgeon?

Hi, James. I am from New Jersey. At this present time I do not have a oral surgeon. So far I've been on two consultations with two different surgeons and I believe I have one more consultation. I saw Hugo Quinones and Laurence Sussman. I have another oral surgeon in NYC to see. Feel free to PM me if you need more info.

Thanks Ker, I am from Jersey as well. I already have a surgeon, I was just wondering if yours happened to be the same. My surgeon is Jeffrey C Elbaum.
