quick questions about swelling

Was anyone's swelling particularly hard? My swelling practically feels like bone in places but I'm nearly sure I don't have bone in some of the places it feels like this. Also, again not to discourage anyone, but this swelling is really bumming me out at this point (4 1/2 weeks). I know a few people had some prolonged swelling on this board but to anyone who has gotten past this prolonged swelling how long did it last?

well, i don't think i can help much since i am only about 12 days post-op, but i had a couple of really hard areas and the MLD therapist mentioned that sometimes everything congeals in one area (that is why we spent so much time working on those areas to get them to move). i had some luck with using heat on those last remaining areas and then doing some self MLD (which essentially was sort of a downward stroke on that area). my swelling is pretty much completely gone now. i would speak with your surgeon about the remaining swelling, but i would say that this is not out of the ordinary to have hard spots that really do feel like a bone.
