Has anyone else had this prob;em??

#1 Post by kokoro »

Hi I just discovered this message board and I sooo wish i had know about it before my surgery. I am about 7 weeks post op from lower jaw advancement and geneoplasty. Everything has healed very well and the swelling has almost completely gone down now. The only problem is that my midline on my lips do not match. the bottom lip is slightly to the right. Has anyone else had this happen and if so did it correct eventually or is there something they can do about it? It looks like my smile is crooked and I keep biting my lip also so its kind of annoying. Any info would help!
Thanks!!

Terra

Not that this is going to make you feel any better but I noticed something strange about my upper lip it seems to bulge a little on one side Im gonna ask the surgeon about next time. this is one hell of a recovery

Could it be related to swelling? I know for a while my bottom lip looked uneven to the point of a crooked smile because one side was more swollen than the other. It evened out at about 4 monts post-op I believe. Sometimes the swelling is interior and you may not think it is there but it is.

Thank you so much for the repies!! I hope that it is because of the swelling. I am only 7 weeks post op so I probably do have some swelling that i dont notice

thefuture, I had lower jaw surgery a month ago and have that too. Barely noticeable though. Definitely not swelling. I think it's where i keep biting my lip as I'm not used to having my lower jaw forward.
