Could some of you tell me how much you SARPE Surgery was. I am sure my ins. is not going to pay for any of the surgery, and it will be done in the hospital.
Thanks

It depends on what country you live in but mine cost around $10,000 as an outpatient at the hospital. I was fortunate to have most of it covered by insurance. Good luck with everything!

In Mexico I was quoted between 7,000 and 8,000 American dollars. This is outpatient with the surgery being done in the doctors clinic.

Mine was not that expensive, however, mine was done as an outpatient procedure in my OS office. I think the total cost for the SARPE was $3500.00. My insurance did cover it though. If you can get a note from your doctor saying that it is medically necessary to correct what is wrong it will probably be paid for.

Mine was $3200 in Costa Rica, 5k with air fare and accomodations. Outpatient in hospital.
Believe it would have been at least twice that if done here in Massachusetts.
Prices seem to vary depending on what part of the country.
If you find an OMS who will do it in his office, that would probably be the lest expensive, as you would be mostly paying just the surgeon's fee.

Mine was $6000 US done as an outpatient procedure in the OS office. It would have been upwards of $10,000 had I chosen to do it in the hospital.
Also, my OS gave me a discount because I was being seen as a patient without insurance(my insurance wouldn't cover it).

Where did you have it done? I'm always interested in finding out the price differentials for medical and dental care in different parts of the country. Figure I'm in one of the more expensive regions, being in eastern Massachusetts.

Since I just got in all the bills for my SARPE....
My hospital was $5000 before insurance, $750.00 after
My anesthesia was $400 b/i $150 after
My OS was $2000 b/i $900 after
I'm in the middle of Kansas so probably not the most expensive.

Maybe I should check with a few more Oral Surg. He will not do the surgery in his office.

Wonder if a surgeon's willingness to do the surgery in their office partly relates to whether they use general anesthesia or not, and it the use of general requires hospital facilities, for legal or medical reasons.
I'm still a bit mystified as to why some surgeons are adamant about general while others will do twilight sedation. The three I spoke with were quite clear it had to be general for my Sarpe.

My procedure was done with a general anesthetic in office. I know because I wanted the twilight because it would be cheaper, and the OS denied me that saying that it would be a lot easier for me to be completely under.
He's been in the field for quite some time now, and said nothing about the requirement to be in hospital with the general.
Different strokes for different folks, I guess.
