Question

I'm scheduled for lower BSSO in about 9months. One thing I have not discussed with the OS because it is kind of trivial but nevertheless I am somewhat concerned about is this sleeping on the back business. For how long is this typically required, and does anyone have any suggestions as to how to most readily accomplish this. Is it necessary to sleep on the back with the head and chest elevated to diminish swelling?
Thanks,
Big H

My surgeon told me that I could sleep how I wanted. But I found it so uncomfortable that sleeping on my back elevated was the only way. I also found that if I tried sleeping horizontal the pain got worse and my face started throbbing.

I slept propped up for about 3 weeks, but gradually getting more horizontal as the swelling went down. I'm now 6 weeks post op and I can sleep how I want without being uncomfortable.
