I'm going into the surgeons office this week for an appointment.
My ortho wants me to book a date for late June/early July to get my surgery done as I have about 2-3 weeks off mid semester.
My question is, seeing how its March now, do you think he'll be able to fit me in then?
How long did you make your surgery time in advance?
Also, what's the recovery period like? Would I look respectable 2 weeks post surgery to be able to return to Uni?
thanks
How much notice?

I got surgery 3 weeks after meeting the surgeon. As for looking well again, after 3 weeks I was still swollen like a balloon, it took about 5 weeks before I looked relatively normal again.
I my surgery mid-semester, missed the last 4 weeks of term and then had an extra 4 weeks for the Christmas holiday to recover, I would recommend a similar arrangement if you can as I wouldn't have liked to go back even after 4 weeks as it was 6 weeks before I could start to eat solid food again.

I got my date about 3 months in advance and returned to work/college 4 weeks after surgery. Though half term was tagged on the end so I had an extra week than I really needed. 2 weeks may be fine but be prepared that you may not feel up to it 14 days post-op. Good luck for getting the date you want!
