I had my consult with my surgeon and start braces this Thursday. Both surgeon and ortho say I will be able to get the surgery this summer because my teeth are pretty straight and my ortho thinks he will have them ready for surgery by then (I have had 2 phases of braces before). I forgot what surgery I am getting cause theres so many different names bssso rfrf whatever etc.. but they are breakin the jaw and movin it and thats what matters. Anyways I am dead set on the Marine Corps and want to recover as soon as possible, I heard an important aspect to a swift recovery is nutrition, and I am a bit worried about how I will eat and what in that 3 week post op phase, what has everyone else done? Also how long does it take before I can be physically active i.e gym, running?

If your going to be tightly banded shut for 3 weeks, then i agree with meryaten a good blender is a must.

Ive been tightly banded for about 3 weeks now (with at least another 2 to go) and its not great but you do get used to it.

Ive eaten alot of things like blended soups, shepherds pies, runny mash potato, and managed to not loose any weight since leaving hospital.

The exercise side, has been slow for me, due to problems during and after surgery.
