Hi Everyone,
On 24th Jan I decided to go for the treatment after only be offered it Oct 2007 and having a consultation in Dec - to me I had to break it down into stages or I wouldn't get through it - so much to think about!
Joint Consulation with surgeon & ortho - 24th Jan
Braces fitted - 15th Feb
Follow up appointment - 22nd Feb
3 wisdom teeth out - to enable op - 3rd April
2 ops - lower jaw forward 6mm, upper jaw up 3mm - ARH!!!
Recover
Final months in braces!!
Obviously there are extra things inbetween but this is how my head was coping with it!!
Well after having my braces fitted on 15th Feb my progress has been really quick and I'm so happy
I went for my follow up 1 hour appointment a week after and my ortho tweeked the bands etc. My next appointment was then not for 6 wks because of Easter but I had to go this morning as the wire had come out at the back on the bottom teeth! He adjusted the bottom wire and bands and wants me to keep my appointment in 3 wks time!! He said next time the top wire will be stronger and the bottom four front teeth will be each slightly shaved down by 1/4 mm each so they fit perfectly without extractions! This is something he mentioned we would do but I didn't expect it so soon!
I've also got my date for my wisdom teeth op - the same as my next adjustment - 3 weeks time - 3rd April!
I'm so happy and will definately be going every 4 wks not 6wks - even the slightest tweek could save me months on the treatment time....
Sorry to go on but I'm so pleased that things are happening quickly and my ortho seems to want to push me on - I know these things take time but 12 months before op like he orginally said is much better than 18 - only time will tell!

were in the same boat almost only im having extractions
