iight i jus visist da surgeon today they say ill have to wear braces for about a year b4 they perform da surgery wat dey gon do is remove my wisdom teeth and some other teeth cuz my teeth are crowded and braces it and after a year seagon is gonna move my top jaw forward abit to even my bite but i got question how r dey gon remove ma teeth?

Meryaten is right. Oral surgeons use a lot of different instruments to get the teeth out, if thats what you're asking. If the wisdom teeth are impacted, I'd suggest doing an IV sedation. Good luck, bro.

I was awake for all of my wisdom tooth extractions, but the uppers were a piece of cake--literally POPPED right out!

The lowers are usually more problematic in most cases. One of mine was difficult for the oral surgeon, the other one not so much. I had no IV sedation, just local.

I wouldn't know, I made sure to be entirely out for all of my 5 (yes, 5) wisdom teeth. I think if they're easy to get out, IE not impacted, or not way down deep in the gums so the OS has to dig for them, then awake is fine. I also made my husband get his wisdom teeth removed while under IV sedation, but this is because I didn't want him telling me in graphic detail about how his wisdom teeth were removed. However, I did have a friend who held a mirror up during her removal and watched the whole thing in rapt fascination. She wanted to be a doctor. Go figure.

If they remove teeth while you are awake, they usually numb you beforehand with local anaesethetic injection so it won't hurt.

I had both upper wisdom teeth removed under local anaesthetic, and neither hurt. All I felt was some pressure - and I could hear lots of popping, grinding and squeaking. They use a weird lever tool to work them loose againist the teeth next to them - then they egt in there with the pliers. I'm sure they have a fancy dental instrument name, but they looked like pliers to me. If you are lucky and don't have tiwsted roots, they should but able to pull them out in a coupkle of minutes.

so did yo teeth hurt for few days after that??? did you get tired or kinda suck?

The sockets where the teeth used to be were a bit achey for a few days - nothing a bit of codeine + acetominophen couldn't get rid of. They took a few hours to stop bleeding and I felt a bit off while there was still blood in my mouth, but only for half a day or so. I had them done about 4pm and was back at work the next day.

Upper wisdoms aren't too bad, because they're embedded in your skull. It's the lower ones that can be tricky, as the roots can sometimes be tangled up with nerves that affect the rest of your face. They also have to do a lot of pushing and forcing against your lower jaw, which can obviously move in a way that your skull doesn't.
