Only one day to go...

#1 Post by kaycee »

Yikes - tomorrow is my big day. I am scheduled for upper and lower jaw surgery with a possible genio at 11:30am.

While I don't know if I'm having the genioplasty yet, I found out yesterday that my health insurance will cover it so I won't have to worry about bringing a check to the hospital.

It's going to be a long day a work, I only managed about three hours sleep last night. I honestly don't think I've been this stressed for anything else in my entire life. :)

Good luck!

GO in with a positive attitude knowing it's finally happening.

You'll be in great hands and you'll be on plenty of pain relieving medication so nothing to stress about really ;)

Hey Buddy!
I already PM'd you, but in case you didn't receive it...You will do GREAT! Maybe after your poor sleep last night you'll be tired enough to get a better night's sleep tonight.

If you're really stressed, you might give your doc a call and see if they typically perscribe something for patients who are stressed pre-op, otherwise I think they can at the hospital, too. Take some really deep, really slow inhales and exhales. It really helps.

You will be absolutley fine, KC!
Braced 5-30-07 for 18-24 months
In-Ovation Uppers, Metal Lowers, TPA upper arch, Lower Lingual arch, no elastics.
100% Deep Bite, Crowding, Over Extrusion
BSSO & Genio surgery June 4th '08!

Good Luck Kaycee - I know exactly how you feel as this time next week it will be my turn!!

It will all be over before you know it - they do this all the time and it is pretty routine stuff to them, but I know it is a major thing to us!!

Try to remain calm and just keep telling yourself this is what you have been aiming at throughout the treatment. This is just another hurdle to get over and then you are on the home stretch!

GOOD LUCK

Good luck :D

Stress wise the before bit is definatley the worst bit. Also please tell the hospital staff if you feel stressed or panicy tomoorow as they can give you something to calm you down, which i found second time round made a huge difference.
