I was wondering about this too.

Although I planned too during my recovery, I havent been to the beach. With my semester starting in a week, I want to have some color. I have this weird fear that my face is going to tan strangely with my swelling, I dont know why. Ive never heard of that happening so its dumb of me to think that.

However, do be aware if you are still on antibiotics. Antibiotics can make you sensitive to UV rays and that can be a really unpleasant experience. Take it from me! I was on antibiotics a while back and decided to go tanning and the next morning I woke up covered in hives that lasted for a month!! And when the hives went away, it left my skin blotchy, almost like I tried to put suntan lotion on in a drunken stupor and forgot to rub it in.

I hope its okay lol. That makes me want surgery even less, im way addicted to the tanning bed I go like 2-3 times a week id be feel awful if I couldnt lol. But I dont see how it would be bad, but you should ask your orthdontist or whoever is in charge of it.

My husband had melanoma a few years back. Doing well now. A dear friend had 2 melanomas and 7 basils in the past 2 years. She's a tanning bed addict as well. May be having further treatment and she does have huge scarring from the melanomas; one is on her face and looks very bad.

Also add, that my dad died of lung cancer caused by smoking since he was 17.
