I was in a couple of months ago asking questions.

Just popping back in to say that I will be fitted with the spacers on Tuesday and on the 2nd I will be fitted with the Braces.
Approx. 18 months later I will have the surgery to my top and bottom jaw.
A little excited - but scared all the same.
So here I am with an update.

Hi Dani, I know what you're going through. I started my Journey in May and finally have been given dates. I, too have yet to be braced...require upper and lower jaw surgery and SAME. I will be fitted with spacers on 12th Jan, have the maxillary expander fitted on 03 Feb and the SAME surgery on 5th Feb...after all this I will then be fitted with braces and within 7 - 12 months have the upper and lower jaw surgery. There are days that I feel really excited and other days I am thinking to myself "You still have time to change your mind" Just think of the end results!!

Spacers were fitted today.
Didn't hurt at all. But they do feel a bit funky.
My teeth are uncomfortable atm. A bit like when you clench your jaw together when you are stressing.
But you definately know they are there. Now I've just gotta talk to my tongue and tell it not to keep on fiddling with them

Good Luck! I am just a week behind you. The braces were put on Monday and I'm to have surgery on the upper and lower jaw in 12 months.
The pain is not too bad except when I eat and otherwise, I have to keep remembering not to be so conscious of the braces, all the time.
I had braces when I was 13 but I must have blocked all memories of them out because I absolutely don't remember anything about them!

Hey Dani,
Just had spacers put in yesterday and, like you, I've got to get my tongue to STOP flicking the bands that are dangling between my teeth.
Next stop - RPE-ville and SARPE-street
