GREAT! :D

Ok let me tell you guy's i've been visiting this website for over a year now but never actually made a account, this website has helped me out way above my expectations. it helped me what kind of braces to choose ( suresmile ) and how to prepare for my surgery ( had lower and upper jaw surgery for my class 3 underbite problem ),now the surgery itself i've been preparing myself for over 2 years now but never had the money to cover it until i got myself a job that actually paid for 85% of the surgery, which im very thankful ( and lucky ) to have a job like this.

my experience after the surgery was actually not bad at all. at first i was scared but after doing some research for months on it i got over the fear stage and it became more of a excitiment stage. the overall pain from a scale of 1-10 i would have to give it a 3 maybe even a 2. as a matter of fact the day after my surgery i was already walking on my own and fixing myself drinks on my own using the zip and squeeze. the doctor told me that having a good state of mind before and after the surgery helps alot with the recovery. drinking alot of fluids helped alot with the overall swelling i think, i didn't get a bruised and the only swelling i had was on one side of my face, i still have it to this point but it's only noticible to people that knew me before the surgery. i do have some numbness on one side of my chin and lip and a little bit on my cheek and also my tongue hopefully i'll get that back soon. the part that i feel is the most difficult is not being able to eat what i want to eat. im still on the soft foods that i have to basically swallow, i've lost about 10 lbs in about 3 weeks, which i dont mind but i cant wait to eat some solid foods hopefully when i go back in 4 weeks for my next appt. i'll be able to. i cant open my mouth all the way of course though it's only been a little bit over 3 weeks, but in time i'll be able to yawn with my mouth fully open, lol. +\+

overall the experience when well i will try to put some pictures up because i know it helps alot to get that visual image :D

Congrats. I had mine around the same time as you. Your name (lakerfan) suggests you're in Southern California. Where did you have your surgery done? I had mine at Kaiser in LA.
