Will the bone in my jaws ever be as strong as it was originally? I mean, jaw bones can take a lot of pressure; will it be slightly stronger with the calcification, just the same, or slightly weaker? Kind of like if we had exact copies of my jaw and did stress tests on originals of my jaw and one-year-afters of my jaw, which ones would take more pressure on average?

I dont have any scientific or medical knowledge but I think if you did a stress test like you describe the new bones would be slightly weaker ( although functionally unoticable to you) or the exact same. I do not think the bones would heal stronger then the original.

The face will be able to withstand more trauma. Jaw surgery forces the creation of new muscle and other soft tissue that provides added protection.

I was wondering if the metal still being in there would make the jaw stronger then prior to the surgery. I had upper and lower done back in January. Will have to ask my doc next time I see him.
