This is still strange for me

Because of my overbite I was so used to jetting my jaw forward to compensate. My muscles were used to the jetted position. Now that I've had surgery and my bite is corrected, it feels so weird to bite down! I feel like if I bite normally now, I should have an overbite - although the mirror says otherwise. So I find myself still trying to jet my jaw forward when talking and smiling because I did it my entire life prior to surgery.
When did things start to feel natural for you after lower jaw surgery? If I would just bite and smile things would look fine, but I'm causing myself to look silly jetting my jaw forward (when it doesn't need to be) and smiling. Come on muscles - FORGET!
