Gonna be wired shut for two weeks, and probably sleeping propped up/in the recliner most of that time.

I had BSSO but was never banded shut.

I had to sleep in a reclined position for about 2 months. Everytime I tried to sleep normally, some swelling/numbness would come back.

Double jaw & genio, tightly banded 1-week, splint was removed after 3 weeks. I slept in bed from the start but propped up on pillows. That only lasted about a week before I decided sleeping flat was worth the extra swelling in the morning. (I can't sleep propped up).

banded heavy for 2 weeks, then had removable bands for another 4 weeks and had splint removed at 6 weeks. I slept propped up for a good 3 weeks then couldn't stand it anymore.

I had a Lefort I and BSSO no genio. My jaw was heavily banded (no movement whatsoever) for over 7 weeks - I did not have a splint though except for when I was on the operating table. I purchased a nice used recliner on craigslist and slept in it for about 2.5 months or more, just my personal preference though because I was too nervous to even try before then.
