Well....Yes I did have my surgery but there was a bit of trouble to shorten my mandible. 7mm was a lot to take off and my jaw popped out and had to be pushed back in at the office yesterday- yow-how!! Thank god for percocet and moms. Jaw pain is an issue. I'm trying to relax it rather than clench- seems to help.

OS is not sure if jaw will stay, if not then we'll use ortho to get teeth in correct spot.
I might try to go for a walk tonight under cover of darkness- we'll see how high I am - don't want to fall down.
Getting loads of rest and drinking my boost, antibiotics and some water.
Sleeping in the recliner with a bunch of pillows and a heavy cat.

sounds like you had the same thing done as someone else here who had their jaw moved in the office, not sure whether his was moved forward or backward, either way sounds painful, glad you are better.
Heavy cat was a big part of my recovery! When I got back from the hospital, my cat spent a long time meticulously smelling every part of my lower face, then he settled down on my lap and stayed there pretty much all week. He definitely helped!

It's great to read that other people get such comfort from their pets as well. The cat-smells-the-face-after-surgery part is too funny. One of my cats (the smart one) did that too! I have two cats. One cream-colored british shorthair who is tremendously smart and one blue colored british shorthair who is as dumb as a brick but just as sweet as the smart one. They have both stood by me through recovery and helped me feel better. Anyway, hope your better soon!

I've noticed that by having my pain medication 1/2 hour before eating, brings a bit of a lift to my spirits- then the meal doesn't involve much pain or drudgery. So I can ride that "happiness" for about an hour before I get tired again.
My cat has been allowing me to pet her these past couple of days and has kept a vigil all night beside my chair. Mind you, I think I heard her snicker last night as I struggled to get comfy.
