Does any have any questions they recommended to the surgeon during my pre-op inteview?

My concerns:
-pain immediately after surgery
-if they are doing both jaws (I was told most likely just bottom); Ireally want to get this right

Having said that I don't want to be pushy at all. It is his job and skill.

Hi! It sounds like your surgery is coming up soon - that's good! It may be his job and skill, but it is your mouth, money and health and you deserve to have all of your questions answered.

Here are some questions that I would ask:

Will I have an n/g tube or nasal tubes when I wake up from surgery?
What kind of diet will I be on and for how long? Liquid, soft chew, ect?
Will I be wired or banded shut and for how long?
What are the chances of relapse?
Do you use pressure stockings during surgery to prevent blood clots?
Will I have a catheter and for how long?
How long will I be in hospital?

I'm sure there are more good questions, it just depends on what you are curious about or concerned about. Good luck!

how long will you be in the hospital? (if your getting it done at a hospital)
What are the possible Compications?
How long will the surgery be roughly?
What to expect post op? swelling etc
post care options

Ask as many questions as you posibly can, that what they are there for! Jaw surgery is big so its important to get all your questions answered!
