Does it?

Short answer - yes.
Longer answer, upper jaw sugery will always have an aesthetic impact on your nose. In my case i'll gain 1mm each side and the tip will turn up a little, but every surgery is different. The person who can give you the most accurate information on how you'll be affected is your surgeon, so best ask him.

I would also say yes but to varying degrees. I asked my surgeon and he said the same as above it may spread more or slightly tip up on the end.
I get the impression it would only be very slight change but none the less i think it would be different.

For upper jaw surgery (advancement), I was told the nose can get a bit wider and maybe pointer tip - also your nostrils might show a bit more. I'm not sure how it affects the nose if your having your top jaw moved back but I would assume the opposite of an advancement..?
As for lower jaw only, it does not affect your nose at all from what I've been told.

Upper jaw surgery will. I had a Lefort 1 and my nose is different. It's not horrible or anything, just a little wider. I'd take a wider nose over my deformed upper jaw any day!

There was a guy who did Lefort1 (5mm forward), and his nose became so wide he wanted to schedule a surgery to reverse the surgery.
He has a blog with lots of pictures, but this blog is closed for strangers (after I talked about him here without his permission).

er the voice in minority here says in his case no. I had double jaw chop with a turbinectomy for good measure and my nose didn't change at all. Which is good because I like it how it is.

I had double jaw surgery. My nose is apparently technically smaller - it's shorter and the tip points up a little, but it's also wider because my nostrils are more flared. I had double jaw surgery for my underbite.
If you picture it in your head, when they push your upper jaw forward, as they did in my case, my nose went up and out. I imagine that if it was to get pushed back, for an overbite, it might get a little longer and narrower, but I'm no surgeon.

This is something i'm concerned about too because i had rhinoplasty 3 years ago..... I'm having my underbite fixed and need surgery on both jaws; the top jaw will be coming forward. I asked the surgeon about it and he said my nose shouldn't be affected ...i hope this is true....

I had rhinoplasty about 10 years ago. Upper jaw surgery definitely changed my nose.

Rgggh. Thank you for your reply. I will just have to hope for the best... And hope I won't have too much of a ski slope! Would you share your pictures with me of before and after? I won't be offended if you say no!xx

I'll see if I can find some.
My nose is a little bit wider at the base and the end tipped up a bit. That's all that changed. I actually like it.

Just an addition to my post above, i'm 26 days out of surgery and the other day I asked friends and family if my nose looked different. After close inspection their verdict was 'maybe it has but we can't really see much difference'. I can't even tell myself for sure. So all in all the change (if any) for me has been unnoticable.
