Numbness to feeling again?

#1 Post by ajl1239 »

I had double jaw surgery and have about 1/4 of my face (the right side of my nose, the upper right part of that part of my lip, and the immediate skin)--basically that quadrant--that is numb and tingling.

How long have you guys found it takes for feeling to come back? My surgeon claims he did not cut any nerves there, but just "traumatized them" as he was forced to work in that area. I'm skeptical, of course.

I had double jaw surgery on 10 Aug. I feel a bit of numbness on my upper lip since yesterday. Strange indeed. I hope it goes away soon.

I find it hard to control my face at the moment. I can't smile properly...

I had a similar area numb right after my surgery, right nostril area. I think the feeling came back around a month to a month and a half after the surgery.

I was told that feeling in the upper jaw pretty much always comes back, though it may take longer for some.
