In line for surgery, but will this fix my pointy chin to?

I'm just starting this whole treatment, due to get braces in November for 18 months, then upper and lower jaw surgery to fix my underbite - so the surgeon will move my lower jaw back, upper forward a bit, and depending at the time, possibly widen my top jaw as it is quite narrow!!
I am very excited about all of this because I need it done medically, but also my horrible chin will be set back and I'll feel a lot more confident, I hope!
However, the thing i am worried about though is will this fix my pointy chin? I basically have a long narrow face and my chin is quite long from the front view, as well as sticking out a bit (from side). I'm going to ask my surgeon this next time I see him, (however this is 7 weeks away), but if the lower is moved back, does anyone know whether or not they have to somehow bend or widen the chin bone in order for it to meet it's new position (where the lower jaw bone has been removed)?
Otheriwse, in my head i have this picture of my pointy long chin staying as it is, but a bit higher up my face!!!
Any help is appreciated, thanks!
