Hello to everybody!

My name is Antony and I live in Liverpool in the UK. I'm 22, nearly 23 :( !
I've recently graduated as a primary teacher and as of two days ago, I have FINALLY been referred to the Dental Hospital to start the ball rolling for my underbite surgery!

I've joined this site because I want to blog my journey from start to finish, even though I know I will be having surgery in around 2 years, I want to show people the complete process.

About my jaw:

I have a protruding lower jaw (underbite) which I am very self conscious and aware of. For years it has caused me extreme low self esteem and image issues as well as the practical side of things; I had to stop eating meat 7 years ago because I find it difficult to chew properly without it causing pain to my jaw. However, I have saved a fair few chickens along the way which is a balance, of sorts :)
On my last measurement on Tuesday, I have around an 8mm protrusion which he believes will put me at a 'great need' for surgery.

I wanted to add images of myself but being IT-illiterate I need some help :)

Welcome Antony.

Congrats on your graduation and starting the process for jaw surgery.
It's odd, but as soon as I started working, time flew by much faster than I expected. It's definitely a long and difficult journey, but I'm sure you will be happy with your results.
I (re)started the whole braces thing leading up to surgery when I was around 23 as well. I'm 25 now, finished with surgery and about to have my braces taken off. For me, it was definitely worth the time and effort involved.

Hey Anthony,
I'm 23 and also have an underbite. Congratulations on having the courage to get the ball rolling, i know how scary it can seem, but like nineeyes said time will really fly by and before you know it you'll be on the other side.

posting pics can be a little tricky to begin with but is quite simple- you'll need to upload your image to a free online image hosting website, if you search google you should find lots of them, when uploaded youll get three or four image urls, you need the one that starts with and end with , then paste this link into your message.

I look forward to seeing your progress
