Confused

#1 Post by Schnapple »

I have been in braces for 20 months. After being referred, I have just had my initial consultation with a consultant. 4 Weeks later, I have so far received nothing. Is this normal? Or should I have been expecting a following appointment/letter in the post within this time?

I do understand that the clinics based at the hospital are only open once a week for a few hours, so no doubt will the patient queue be long.

But I am confused as to whether I should have expected a follow up appointment letter in the post within these 4 weeks? :?

Can't hurt to follow up.

Think current rules are that you must be seen by a consultant within eighteen weeks of the initial referral. Be patient, it does take time.
I'm under the care of a consultant orthodontist and a consultant maxillo facial surgeon based at a hospital too and the whole process took ages. Two years into treatment now.
