So after being in braces for not yet two years and being 9months post op - I am just about over it.

I had hopefully my last adjustment today and my Ortho has put me in 2 really tight elastics next to my front four teeth. She even had to wire up hooks top and bottom especially.

It is almost like being just post-op again. They are so tight and restricting. But mostly they are sooo noticeable and ugly. Its also making it hard to talk and it really HURTS!!

I only have a month to go, but need some motivation and support. I am really struggling....

Im 7 weeks post op, almost 3 and a half years in braces and I have one month to go until my braces are OFF!!!

COuldnt imagine being in braces 9 months post op,thats long, but youre nearly there, i think the closer it gets to the end date the more impatient i become,im literally counting down the days. When i first had my zig -zag elastics a few weeks ago,i was in that much pain i was in tears from the time i literally ripped the things out a couple of hours after having them put in, and even after i took them out they were so painful.I couldnt even bear to put them back in for fear of the pain,that it was a couple of days later and some ibuprofen that I realised i had no choice but to wear them.Now,I prefer it when theyre in, i find my jaw feels a bit unstable once i take them out for eating etc. Its amazing how strong the elastics are!!

So yeah,just hang in there,thats ll you can do really, hopefully removal day will be here before you know it!!
