Not happy...

#1 Post by cheekysara »

I had a chin implant placed 5 days ago but I am not happy with the results. I know it is only day 5 but I feel I have made a big mistake. MY surgeon has been more than helpful but I am scared that I am seriously gonna pee him off if I go back to him at my check up appointment and tell him I am not happy and would like it removed. It looks massive just now and masculine. Not at all what I wanted.

i would suggest waiting about 6 months before you decide if you want to go back on it. it's only been 5 days, your jaw is most definitely still swollen to a ridiculous amount.

I honestly feel sick dunno if it's because of the pain meds or looking at my self in the mirror. It seems far too long. When I had my jaw surgeries and the swelling went down my face looked a lot rounder-minus a chin implant. I thought I was unhappy with the way I looked but nothing like how I feel now. It's 6 days post op and my chin is still sore, was told the pain would go away after a few days. So so not happy. My chin looks too long for my face.

You REALLY should take 35k's advice and wait a while before judging the outcome. Six days falls well within most folks definition of "a few days". And after less than a week, most of what you're seeing is almost definitely swelling. From what I've seen, genio procedures cause a lot of swelling.

Hang tight for 6 months or so, and I'm sure it'll be fine. If not, deal with it. Remember, nothing requires as much patience as self-improvement.

I had the genio with my jaw surgeries and it is really the only thing that still hurts. I'm 3 weeks post op and it is getting better.

Well it's been well over a week now and the swelling has gone down quite a bit now, I'm still left with some bruising but that will pass soon enough. I really like my new chin and my surgeon has reassured me that my face will not look longer. The only thing is that it is weeping, not infected but looks like on one side the stiches may be starting to dissolve and the wound looks a little open. Not pouring blood. I only notice it when I take my retainer out and there is a little residue on the retainer. I hope it doesn't get infected as I woudl now soo hate for it to have to come out. I have another weeks course of antibiotics to take and I've to see him again next Thursday.

I'm scared that this implant is going to have to come out. I really like it now and happy that I went through with it. It's 10 days now and when I wake up I spit blood. Not bright red blood but diluted blood mixed with flem. I am on antibiotics and I saw the surgeon a few days ago and said there is no sign of infection. I see him again Thursday. I don't want it out. I don't want it out then going in again like musical chairs. Why is it bleeding?
