Hello everyone! I had double jaw surgery back in June 29 to correct an underbite. I am now 7 weeks and 2 days post op. I had my upper jaw cut in 3 pieces to expand it and was moved forward 4mm, lower jaw was brought back 4mm. First couple weeks were rough due to being banded shut, swelling, and just overall uncomfortableness. Things have gotten much better ever since i got my splint removed at 4 weeks post op. Here are a few before/after pictures. What do you guys think?

Looks great!!!! I am having the same thing on 18 OCT. It looks like all your swelling is gone. How do you like your new look? After all - that is what's important. Thanks for sharing your pics.

WOW Huge difference, you must be so happy with the results.

Your profile looks really good and will look even better when your braces come off.

i imagine that type of surgery would be very stressful to go through to start with, Best wishes for a continued recovery.

super smile most of the swelling has subsided but there is still some left, more on my left side if you look close enough

Wow, what a difference!! Your after looks really great, you must be really happy with the results. And at only 7 weeks post-op, I'm sure it will only look better and better as any last swelling goes down and then especially once the braces are off. Good for you for going through that, I'm sure it wasn't an easy decision. Definitely worth it though!

first week i was definitely having thoughts of regret but things got better as the days went by, im so glad i went through this and i would definitely do it again! those of you that are contemplating going through this procedure i advise you to go ahead and do it, it is so worth it!

at first my whole mouth area and chin were numb but now only my chin. my chin has been very tingly lately so im hoping ill regain sensation soon

If you don't mind me asking, who did your jaw surgery? I notice you're also in LA as I am. How long were you wired shut? What was that like, I mean, what did you eat? Thank you in advance!!

I had my surgery done by Dr. Felsenfeld @ UCLA. I was banded shut for 10 days and had a splint in for 4 weeks. Being banded shut was uncomfortable but tolerable. I ate blended foods like soups, smoothies, and ensures. Hope this helps
