Question for anyone who has, or has had the "Splint" post op

Ok, so this may be one of the silliest questions posted on here, but I'm going to ask it anyway.

I had lower jaw surgery on October 10th and I will be wearing a splint wired to my top teeth until November 11th. Fun huh?

My questions is, does foods like Tomato soup and tomato-based pasta sauces stain the splint? You know like they do Tupperware containers?

Since I'm going to be eating pureed foods and soups for so long, I definitely want to add these items to my diet, but I also don't want to have an orange-red stained piece of plastic in my mouth either.

Anyone know?

No, it won't stain it. Just brush and rinse out after you eat and you'll be good.

That's my answer too. I had a splint on for a week (it was taken out after that because it wasn't doing any good) and I had no staining. The only thing I will say is that when I had it taken out and swilled with mouthwash, that lots of food debris came out, so make sure you are 'mouthwashing' really, really well while you have the splint in.

Mine did a little. But I recommend hooking the tip of a WaterPik in the front notches and just flushing that thing out. When mine came out it felt digusting and furry, but I was told it was actually pretty clean.
