Bumps on roof of mouth

#1 Post by Lv4snow »

I'm 2 days post-op from a le fort 3 piece and I have developed some bumps or blisters on the roof of my mouth. I think it's from swallowing and creating more of a suction up there but has anyone else experienced this? They're kind of like the blisters you would get if you ate something too hot.I can't see them because my jaw is rubber banded closed.

Is it possible that they made a "relieving incision" in the roof of your mouth along one of the split lines? My surgeon says that sometimes, when they need to stretch further than a solid piece of tissue will allow, they can make a small incision that allows them to stretch it further.

I'm 4 days out and still dealing with this a bit. I imagine that it was the tube that goes down your throat. They are getting better every day. Hopefully in a day or so they will totally be gone.
