See if you can spot the anatomical issue in the P-A cephalogram below:

Let just say that when I saw this on the computer screen, the source of all my problems was rather clear.

Your maxilla is too small, and you have an asymmetry in your lower jaw.

Your midline is way off, and you appear to have an open bite. Is that correct?

You all have nailed it... I have significant lower jaw asymmetry, and a too-narrow upper palate. (And this is after palatal expander treatment as a child! You can only imagine what it looked like before!) But yes, this is tossing my lower midline approximately an entire tooth off.

I do not have an open bite... I don't know what's up with that crescent-shaped shadow across my anterior bite line; but if you look carefully, you can see that the teeth in front do indeed touch.
