Hi everyone,
I am heading towards double jaw surgery with the above doctors. Dr K will be my chief surgeon I believe (maybe Dr Relle will also be there, not sure yet). They seemed very nice and very thorough but just wondering if anyone has any experience of them at all? I can't find much online - I found a few great things about Relle but not much at all on Kupferman. Thank you!
Does anybody know DRs Kupferman/ Walline/ Relle in LA?

I've consulted with Dr. Relle, although I will not be having jaw surgery with him (he's no longer with Kaiser).
He is very experienced, as I'm sure you've heard. He does listen. His big thing is to do as little as necessary; not very big on aesthetics though.

That's good to know thank you! Just wondering what makes you say he's not great on aesthetics? Did you see his work that you didn't like? Or you didn't like his surgical plan for you? It would really help me to know. Thanks again so much

Because he takes an approach of doing as little as necessary, he doesn't recommend procedures that are purely or mostly aesthetic.
So for example, in my case, I have a very weak bottom jaw. Of course, he recommended a BSSO to fix my overbite, but nothing in terms of width (my lower jaw is narrow compared to the rest of my skull) or the fact that my jaw angle slope is very extreme.
Another surgeon that I am working with at Kaiser is open to doing more, so she recommended jaw angle implants in my case.
His work from what I've seen and heard is very good though, and I'm sure if you have a problem with something, he would be willing to work on it (like if I had pointed out my jaw angle and said I wanted work on it, he probably would). But I feel like we as patients don't always know all of our options, and I feel like he didn't cover the mostly aesthetic options with me while my other oral surgeon went over everything and had me decide what it is I would like to do.
If you know what you want, I would say he's probably the best you can get in LA. If you're unsure of what you want, I would visit a few others and then go back to him and explain to him what you're looking for.
If he was with Kaiser I would still consider working with him, although I'm glad I spoke with my other oral surgeon first before committing.
