When should one start Jaw Exercises?

#1 Post by Nathaniel »

Hi everyone, when is the average time one would start doing jaw exercises? I haven't been instructed to do it just yet however tomorrow I'll be 14 days post op and I see some start doing it almost one week in. Any insights? Thanks!

when your surgeon says so. everyone is different - not all jaw surgeries are the same. if you start too early, it could strain your osseous tissue. it is still probably soft right now.

now nine weeks out and just back from surgeon's office. Apparently I have very bad range of motion. He said I should be able to fit 4 knuckles in my mouth and i can't even get two in.

Have to go back in for a procedure under sedation in a few weeks to clean out joint, stretch the muscles and have Botox injected. Crap....
