Bone chip a year after wisdom tooth extraction..

#1 Post by Koof »

I'm getting braces on again in a few days and I recently started working @ a dental office. I just had my dentist look at one of the sites near where I had a wisdom tooth removed last year, because this weekend I just noticed a sharp.. something poking out of my gum up there. He said he thinks it's probably a bone chip and that it would be ok to not do anything but if it starts causing me pain (because it was starting to ache this weekend, that's how I discovered it), then he'll have to refer me to an oral surgeon. My thing is, I'm almost positive it'll start causing me trouble again even though the pain went away for now, so I'm assuming I'll have to get it removed.. has anyone had this done to a back molar with braces on? It's a very hard site to get too or even see, so I'm worried about that, but I can't postpone getting my braces on, so.. anyone else had similar situations?
