Hello Folks,
Tomorrow i'm meeting my surgeon and ortho for a combined clinic, i have had braces for 3 years and my ortho feels i'm ready for my bi-maxillary osteotomy (I have a class III underbite/crossbite). I have been told the appointment might take up to 2 hours and i'm not sure what to expect...i know i should have asked more questions about it at my last appointment. What happened at your combined clinic and how soon after that did you get your surgery date?
Can anyone offer me any advice, or share your experience... it would be much appreciated.

First combined clinic with surgeon, what to expect?

Re: First combined clinic with surgeon, what to expect?
Wow 2 hours?! My combined clinic took about 15-20mins. At mine, the surgeon just checked that he was happy that my teeth looked ready, took a look at the impressions and checked that I was still happy for everything to go ahead. They briefly spoke about the surgery but that was done in more detail at a further appointment with just the surgeon. I guess really it was just an appointment to make sure that I could be passed from the orthodontist to the surgeon until after the surgery had been done and to check that the surgeon didn't want more orthodontics done first. I had my surgery done within 6 weeks of the combined clinic but as I was on holiday for a week and then it was christmas holidays for a week it was all very rushed and meant that I had about 6 appointments within the space of about 3 weeks.
Good luck and hope it goes ok Just make sure you think of all the questions you might have before you go as if it's going to last 2 hours you should have time to ask them!
