Discouraged - Multiple Surgeries - Swelling???

Hi, I had orthgnathic surgery on my lower jaw and genioplasty on September 25th, 2012. I developed an infection and new swelling in November, and underwent plate removal and infection drainage on November 30th, 2012. I then developed an abscessed tooth and underwent a root canal on December 11th, 2012. The tooth was treated twice. My swelling on the left side of my face never went down totally, and so I returned to my oral surgeon. He discovered a stopped up salivary gland the size of a marble, and I underwent a third surgery to remove it on February 1st, 2013. My tooth was treated for the third time on February 21st, 2013. I have a crown scheduled today.
My question is, my swelling has NEVER totally subsided on my left side. My right side looks great, but I am depressed and anxious over the fact that the other side does not match. This is driving me crazy, and my oral surgeon does not know when or if the swelling will subside and blend in with the other side. Most say they don't notice it unless I point it out, but this is not good enough for me after all of the pain I've endured and the money I've spent.
Has anyone ever had this many procedures this close together? Will the swelling ever go away? How long did it take for yours? I am so depressed by this it's practically all I think about.

So are you saying the stopped up salivary gland was the fault of your surgeon? Do you blame the surgeon for your problems?

No not at all. My understanding is that those are a common complication from having stitches, being numb, and biting when you can't feel.
