I'm curious as to how long it took you older patients to have any gaps close up--gaps created by extractions early on in your orthodontics. I know that "older" adults have jaws like solid rock, but I have been 18 months waiting for 4mm gap to close. One side is pretty much there, but other is still gappy. Better, but gappy.
They have been leveling lower teeth and trying hard to close that gap so that I can be ready for surgery soon. I will be going ahead a little before they would like, for personal reasons. I am scared that I might be messing up the "blank slate" that I'd like to present to the maxillofacial surgeon.
I've had the surgery molds made. Now they do what? Image? Use Dolphin software to model/plan the surgery? I can't wait to get that part over. I'm not afraid of the procedure as much as I am just anxious about how long after they do those models--next ortho appointment in 3 weeks. Oh, I hope they say, let's go! I hope-hope-hope I am ready-enough for the surgery part. Want to get that over with.
