Timeline from first surgeon consultation to -> surgery?

Hi, my name is Andrew and I've had braces on for a year and am ready to get surgery. However, I'm getting worried that I won't get it soon enough to recover by the time school starts (late august). I had my first appointment with the surgeon today but it was canceled and now I won't be able to see him until the June 24th. After my first consultation I will only have 2 months until school starts, I have Kaiser HMO and live in socal. The really annoying part is that I gave up taking summer school because I was told the surgery would be this summer and now it's looking like I won't make it, especially considering how long I have to wait between appointments at Kaiser (1.5weeks-2weeks). Can anyone else give me their timeline, how long did it take for you to get the surgery after the first consultation? If I know I won't get the surgery this summer I can at least move on with my life this summer instead of constantly being in limbo! thank you.

I'm also confused that I have yet to see my surgeon 1 year into my braces, it seems like most people had a consultation with the surgeon before getting braces.

I had my surgery at a busy dental school, and 1st pre-surgical consult to surgery was six weeks. (I could have had it a week sooner, but that would mean I had surgery on my birthday two years in a row; no thank you!)

I had a pre-surgical consult, final pre-op visit, and then surgery, but other surgeons may go directly from consult to surgery.

First consultation: December 11, 2013
Surgery #1: December 19, 2013 (they had a cancellation so I took it, otherwise it was going to be late April)

6 month post-op/surgery #2 discussion: yesterday
Surgery #2: June 11, 2015

(I'm in Canada BTW but our stuff tends to take forever.)

I have a few other appointments with my surgeon between now and then.
