Confused about two piece Lefort
I've tried to search google and many sites for an exact diagram of this but didn't have any luck. I know the basics of this procedure with the splitting the maxilla in two to also widen it, but I was wondering if anyone knows exactly how the widening part works? If the maxilla is severed right down the middle, it seems like to widen it wouldnt the front two teeth kind of invert inwards towards eachother? Obviously the surgeons know what theyre doing but I just can't think of how this actually works without the front two teeth from each segment of the maxilla turning in towards eachother when they widen it. Can anyone elaborate and help me out?

If you need the rear widened, I suppose this might turn your teeth inward a couple degrees, but I doubt it would be noticeable. Even if it was, that sort of rotation can be easily fixed when an intact archwire is put in during your first post-op ortho appt.
